DJ Jenny Woolworth is the geeked-out alter ego of Nicole Emmenegger.

In her teen years Nicole discovered Riot Grrrl and joined the movement by published ‘zines (Busy Bea’s Bush and Beri-Beri), organising events, concerts and Hooters protests. Her first radio experience was as a guest DJ at Carnegie Mellon University station WRCT at the age of sixteen.

Nicole’s undergraduate days were spent at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Upon graduating, she headed to her familial homeland of Switzerland. Based in Zürich, her fortnightly show Tiger Beat on Radio LoRa provided a documentation of female musicians in the independent music scene.

Eventually, Nicole left behind Kreis 5 and relocated to London. She currently works in the heritage sector, with a keen interest in showcasing queer, feminist and radical histories. From 2013 – 2015 she had a sojourn outside the UK, working in The Netherlands for a European cultural heritage project.
